Christian Congresswoman ‘Swatted’ for Second Time as Harassment Amps Up
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she was “swatted” at her home for a second time Thursday morning, following a previous incident on Wednesday. The congresswoman from Georgia is a vocal Christian and advocate against transgender treatments on kids.
Thursday morning Greene tweeted, “Swatted again last night.” The term “swatting” refers to someone intentionally calling 911 to fabricate a story to make law enforcement go out to a location where there is no actual emergency.
The Rome News Tribune shows a report on the first incident from the Rome Police Department that says, “Police officers responded to a 911 call on Wednesday at 01:03 a.m. that led them to initially believe a man who had been shot multiple times was in the bathtub at Greene’s home.”
In the report, the caller also claimed that there was a woman in the home and that children may be with her.
Following the incident the police report says, “After we cleared the call and went back in service, Rome-Floyd 911 received a call from the suspect, claiming responsibility for the incident and explaining his/her motives.”
That report says the caller used a generated computer voice that said the motive was Rep. Greene’s stance on “transgender youth’s rights,” and stated they were trying to “swat” her.
This is extremely dangerous as Christian politicians are being targeted for standing up against ideologies looking to harm youth nationwide.
Just last week, Greene introduced a bill to make gender-affirming care for transgender youth a class C felony. If the bill passes, it would mean any doctor or health care provider providing gender-affirming care to minors could be punished with up to 25 years in prison.
In a twitter post, Greene expressed her gratitude for the department handling the situation professionally.
It is unclear at this time what happened during the second “swat” call on Thursday morning. Charisma News will continue to keep this story updated with information. {eoa}
