Charisma News Brief: ‘VeggieTales’ Turns 30
Yesterday the beloved cartoon series, ‘VeggieTales’ turned 30. For decades, the show has been bringing the truth of the gospel to children in an easy-to-understand format that was both entertaining and light-hearted for children and adults alike.
On X, VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer reminisced about the good times that VeggieTales has brought to the world.
“Yep, 30 yrs ago this week Mike Nawrocki, Robert Ellis, Chris Olsen and I packed 500 copies of VT #1 in Robert’s station wagon and drove them to the post office – barely in time for Xmas! And Bob and Larry entered the world!” Vischer wrote.
As Christian Headlines reported, the idea for VeggieTales came from a love a puppetry and a desire to place it into video format. From this small idea came videos, books CDs and countless lives have since been changed.
Another outlet that has continued to share the gospel is CBN with their ‘Superbook’ cartoon and book series. Sharing bible-based stories with children all over the world on topics like Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection, parents and children alike have decided to follow Christ because of these phenomenal stories.
