John 1:1-8

The Word Became Flesh
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created. In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. This man came as a witness in order to testify concerning the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not this Light, but was sent in order to testify concerning the Light.

The Eternal Kingdom of God

Entering the kingdom of God through the new birth means our inner man has entered into eternity now. When we are born of the Spirit, we are alive to the eternal realities of the kingdom of God. I am not simply going into eternity when I die. My spirit is already living in the eternal kingdom of God as a born-again child of God. I can’t see the kingdom of God unless I am born of the Spirit, taught by the Spirit, and led by the Spirit because it is a spiritual kingdom. Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). To be born of the Spirit means to be born from above, to receive a new spiritual life of divine origin. {eoa}
