Top Christian rap artist Lecrae released a single from his upcoming album, Restoration, this week. The song “Drown,” Lecrae wrote on Twitter, “is about being in a low place and calling on God in the midst of it” and also features Grammy-award winning singer and popular The Voice judge John Legend.

Although Legend doesn’t appear in the video, the words he sings represent a cry for help to God during the hard times showcased in scene after scene of the video: “Tell me that You’ll never let me down/ Cause You’re my final breath before I drown,” the chorus repeats.

With its focus on tragedy, does Lecrae and Legend’s project point us to God or away from Him? Watch the entire video of “Drown” here and let us know what you think.
