Pastor of 2 Children Killed in Police Car Crash: ‘This Is the Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Done’
Two children were killed during a car crash with a stolen police cruiser Monday night near Dayton, Ohio. The children’s pastor tells WDTN News that counseling the victims’ families is the hardest thing he’s ever done.
Father Joseph of Immaculate Conception Church says he prayed at the ER with the families of the victims—6-year-olds Penelope Jasko and Eleanor McBride.
“I’ve been a priest 25 years, and I think this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” he says. “If this is how I’m feeling, I can’t imagine how senseless this is for the parents. They’re healthy, wholesome, faithful, loving, beautiful families. Both of them.”
Suspect Raymond Andrew Walters Jr. allegedly stole a police cruiser after stabbing his father, according to CNN. He was driving 97 miles per hour when he crashed into an SUV and a minivan, killing the two girls and injuring 11 other people.
Please pray for the families as they grieve the loss of these two young girls.
