‘The Spirit Led Him to Pray for Her’: Photo Shows Chick-fil-A Worker Praying Over Customer
Photographer Brittany Calden captured a precious moment in a Chick-fil-A in Madison, Alabama, earlier this month. When Chick-fil-A worker Stephen Spray felt the Holy Spirit prompt him to pray for a customer, he didn’t hesitate.
On July 5, Calden noticed Spray talking to a customer at a table. When she saw Spray lay his hand on the woman’s shoulder and pray, she snapped a quick photo, which she shared on Facebook. She included the caption: “This is Chick-fil-a Madison (AL). Praying for her in between wiping tables. Like, y’all. <3”
Calden couldn’t help but cry when she saw the spontaneous act of kindness, according to a Fox News affiliate.
She says Spray—affectionately called “Mr. Steve” by those who frequent the restaurant—”never fails to walk up to your table and ask how your day is going and always tried to make your day better than it was before you saw him.”
And even though Spray didn’t know the woman at the table, Calden says he told her the “Spirit led him to pray for her.”
Prayer is not too uncommon in Chick-fil-A, apparently. Last year, the entire Chick-fil-A staff in a Belmont, North Carolina, store stopped to pray over a woman about to go into surgery for her breast cancer.
