Empowered21 Employs Jesus’ Incredible Acts 2 Vision
When Empowered 21 aims, it aims big. By 2033, Global Co-Chair Billy Wilson says E21’s vision is to see that every person on earth would have the opportunity, through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, to know Jesus Christ.
Wilson says the people at E21 doesn’t necessarily believe everyone will be saved. But, he says, they are going to do everything in their power to make sure that everyone has a realistic opportunity to know Christ.
“In one of our global council meetings a few years ago, we asked what was the one thing that no organization, no one network or ministry, could possibly do by themselves,” says Wilson, also the president at Oral Roberts University, on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection.” “This is where the Holy Spirit has led us.
“We’ve set a date of 2033, which is the 2,000-year anniversary of Acts chapter 2, for every person to be touched by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe everyone deserves a chance to know the Jesus we know, and we believe the work of the Holy Spirit is going before us and in us and through us to give every person that chance.”
Wilson says another huge goal for E21 is unity within the church and that E21 is calling on Spirit-empowered believers all over the world to be in relationship, according to Jesus’ prayers in John 17. E21 will hold its next Global Congress May 31-June 3 in Jerusalem in 2020.
