Christian Bale Thanked Satan for Inspiring Him to Play Dick Cheney

Actor Christian Bale thanked Satan at the Golden Globes for helping him with his latest role.

“Thank you, Satan, for giving me the inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said in his acceptance speech for best actor in a musical or comedy for his role as Dick Cheney in Vice.

The Church of Satan was thrilled with the actor’s words, while others, like Cheney’s daughter Liz took offense.

Vice is an Adam McKay (The Big Short) directed film about former Vice President Dick Cheney, and how he rose through the political ranks.

Conservatives have taken major issue with the film, claiming it inaccurately represents the second Bush administration.

“By the way, [Bale] did make [Cheney] seem like Satan, by reports,” Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said. “Also made Rumsfeld seem extremely evil, President Bush look like a doofus. Condoleezza Rice totally was ignored, as was Karl Rove, they didn’t say a word, evidently, in the entire movie. And Colin Powell was duped. … So nothing accurate about this movie. But it was good enough for Christian Bale to play it and get an award for it. I don’t really know anyone who saw it, do you?”
