Local Pastor: My Home Is Now a Land Flowing With Rivers of Blood
Almost 11 villages were attacked simultaneously in Nigeria’s Plateau State last weekend, leading local pastors to plead for recognition and assistance.
Rev. Gideon Para-Mallam decried the bloodshed happening in Nigeria’s Plateau State in a recent video. Last weekend, Fulani Herdsmen embarked on a radical killing spree, murdering more than 200 Christians. Initial reports put the death toll at 86, but locals say authorities have lied to hide the mass casualties.
“Plataue State has become not just a killing field through the years, but now a land flowing with rivers of blood,” Para-Mallam says in a video. Para-Mallam is the regional secretary of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Jos, Nigeria. He also founded the Citizens Monitoring Group, which works with Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.
The killing spree is just history repeating itself, Para-Mallam says.
