Attendees Experience Tangible Presence of the Holy Spirit at Charisma Conference
The Charisma Conference drew believers from near and far who longed for a touch from the Holy Spirit.
Michelle Green, a charter school principal in Los Angeles, usually attends two Christian conferences a year. After praying about which conference to attend, she came across the Charisma Conference online.
“I just registered right on the spot and decided to come across the country,” Green said. “I had no plane ticket, no hotel, no nothing, but knew that I wanted to be here.
Green has been reading Charisma magazine since she was 16 years old as a young college freshman. She brought some of her family members on the trip but felt she was blessed to attend the conference on her own.
“Normally when I go to church, I’m like making sure, Are my kids are entering in?,” she said. “I just really want to focus not just focus on revival in the body of Christ or in the world but revival in my heart. I really want to renew my pure love for God because sometimes you can just get caught up working for God and serving Him and serving His people. I just need to spend time rekindling my love for Him. That’s what I’m getting. I’m just restoring my priorities.”
Sherly Rivera, who attends Faith Assembly in Orlando, where the conference was held, learned about the conference through an email to the church choir.
“I wasn’t expecting anything, but this conference has been amazing,” Rivera said. “The speakers are on fire. Just seeing the presence of God, I’ve expected more, and I can’t wait to receive more. It’s just been amazing, seeing how God is healing everybody and just feeling His presence powerfully.”
Martin Roberts from Altamonte Springs, Florida, attended with his wife, Tiffany.
“It’s wonderful, especially the way they are talking about how good God is and how we can speak words of faith and just trust God for everything that we have need of.”
Some attendees work at other ministries in Florida.
Susie Chauncey works for the Christian Television Network and came from Clearwater.
“I have been to many conferences and I have to say this is the best,” Chauncey said. “It’s been absolutely phenomenal. I am practically out of breath.”
Janette Rodriguez works with Christ for All Nations, the Orlando-based evangelistic ministry of Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda.
“I really think you can feel the Holy Spirit,” Rodriguez said. “You can feel God’s presence. All the speakers were amazing. I just really enjoyed it. I feel like an impartation has taken place, not even asked for, but it just happened.”
Rodriguez especially enjoyed Jonathan Cahn as well as Kimberly Jones‐Pothier, known as “Real Talk Kim.”
“Kim was really straight talk, like real,” Rodriguez said. “I love that about her because it’s like, oh, you can relate to her! She’s just down to earth, and that’s what people are looking for, real Christians.” {eoa}
