Prophetic Philanthropy—A More Excellent Way to Give

Share:

God wants to order our giving just as He does every area of our lives. If we have been entrusted with much riches, it is our responsibility to discern how God wants us to steward them.

Good Ideas May Not Be God Ideas

There is a diverse range of philanthropic motivations. Some give to specific causes they feel strongly about, while others prefer a more data-driven approach. There are many who give when they are moved by stories of people in dire need, just as there are those who simply want to do good. That said, it is important to note that not every charitable plan is of God.

Work With Revelation to Achieve Multiplication

“Prophetic philanthropy” means that we first listen to what God is saying before we decide on how and where we should give. Every revelation is an invitation to partner with God in His mission. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God” (Rom. 8:14). The key to leading a fruitful and fulfilled life is simple: and that is to listen intently to the voice of God and obey Him fully even when it does not make sense. This is the secret to asymmetrical impact and cultural transformation.

Dare to Be Different

God does not settle for the status quo. In fact, He often challenges us to go beyond business as usual. Therefore, our frameworks can guide us in our decision-making processes but they should not limit us. God-inspired ideas may not be popular. Kingdom Investors must be willing to take risks on opportunities that are uncommon instead of just sowing into causes that are already well-established and well-funded. When giving, we should look to God for transformational possibilities in uncharted territories.

Partnering With God Requires a Renewed Mind

God does not need us to work for Him. He wants us to work with Him as sons and daughters serving in the Father’s business. Working with God requires a renewed mind so that we can see from His perspective. Because God’s ways are higher than ours (Is. 55:9), His points of view often do not seem to make sense until much later. What God is looking for is our obedience.

The Father Heart of God

Prophetic philanthropy is not just a channel to discern the mind of God, it also reveals the accompanying passion and emotion of the Father. It is presenting God’s plan with God’s heart. As such, kingdom investors discover a deeper revelation of the nature and heart of God through the surprising ways He instructs them to bless His people.

Philanthropy That Transforms Culture

King David was not stuck in doing the same thing in the same way when he was fighting the Philistines (1 Sam. 5). He sought God for guidance and was willing to trust Him and obey, even if the directions were contrary to the way things are done.

Likewise, God can release specific strategies to kingdom champions that have the potential to transform cultures. Kingdom investors who want to go beyond just well-intentioned support of Christian causes must take the time to know what is in the Father’s heart, and partner with Him in philanthropy to release His dreams and His intentions for these men and women.

It is not unreasonable to expect miracles and multiplication of our resources when we invest in God’s way. We invite you to embark with The Titus Group on this supernatural adventure and join us in our journey of prophetic philanthropy.
