This Was Donald Trump’s Record-Breaking September Fundraising Haul
Sunday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign announced “historic” September fundraising levels in its final quarterly report to the Federal Election Commission ahead of the Nov. 8 general election.
The New York businessman once again made a personal contribution to his own campagin in the amount of $2 million. But largely through the combined efforts of millions of “small dollar” donors, the Trump Train collected $100 million in September.
This brings the total raised to-date to $360 million. That left it with approximately $75 million cash-on-hand for the final month of the campaign cycle. So far, 2.6 million Americans have contributed to the campaign—a roughly 24 percent increase since the August report was announced one month ago.
The Trump campaign points out those numbers are “unprecedented” historically for any GOP candidate.
“These numbers show that Donald Trump continues to have incredible broad based support from across America,” the campaign’s finance chair Steven Mnuchin said. “We want to thank our many volunteers and contributors that are clearly committed to electing Donald J. Trump as president in November.”
