Ex-Buddhist Creates Gospel Strategy Reminiscent of Joshua 4
A Chinese businessman is set to build a Bible-based theme park outside a cemetery to create a gospel legacy.
Ex-Buddhist Sun Wenquing converted to Christianity in 2009 and wants to erect a theme park, complete with a replica ark and Temple of the Lord, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
“He actually converted from Buddhism to Christianity and this is just part of his spreading the word of Christianity throughout the world,” says Marc L’Hoir, who manages the neighboring cemetery.
Sun’s deepest desire is to follow the Great Commission.
“What I think is to preach the gospel. I experience so many miracles. God loves me so much. I want to lead my wife, children, brothers and sisters and everyone else I know to know God,” Sun told China Christian Daily.
The Moose Jaw park will reportedly be Sun’s second Bible-themed attraction. He already developed one in China.
CDC reports there are four stages in the park construction. First, the Tent of Meeting construction and the New Testament. Next will be the Old Testament Theme, which includes carving 144,000 names on fences. Third they will build Noah’s Ark and the rainbow. Finally, in the last stage they will internally construct the ark.
“I’m getting lots of people saying, ‘You’re putting an amusement park on your cemetery?’ Well, it’s nothing of the sort,” L’Hoir said. “It’s going to be an educational process where people can come and learn about loving one another. And we need more of that in the world.”
