At 1 p.m. EDT, the Family Research Council will host a panel discussion as we approach the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges.

The “Obergefell: One Year Later Lecture” will take place at FRC Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and it will feature three experts:

  • Dr. Paul Sullins, Associate Professor of Sociology at Catholic University of America, author of an amicus curiae brief in the Obergefell case and will comment on the ruling’s impact on the family;
  • Mark Tooley, President of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, will focus on how the ruling is affecting the church; and
  • Travis Weber, FRC Director of the Center for Religious Liberty, will review some of the high court’s opinion’s legal implications.

“Much has happened legally and culturally in the year since the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges on June 26, 2015,” the FRC said in an official statement announcing the panel discussion. “While the ruling itself concerned same-sex marriage licenses, its implications for the family, the church, and religious liberty are profound.”
