Which Presidential Candidate Best Aligns With Jesus’ Teachings?
According to a recent Barna Group poll conducted on behalf of the producers of the new film The Young Messiah, about 36 percent of Americans believe none of the presidential candidates best align with Jesus’ teachings.
The poll, which was reported by The Hollywood Reporter website, found that 24 percent of Americans believe socialism is more biblical than capitalism, while 14 percent believed the opposite to be true. The remaining 62 percent thought neither was biblically aligned, or just weren’t sure.
So, when asked which presidential candidate most aligned with Jesus’ teachings, the results were just as shocking. In addition to the 36 percent who said “none,” another 21 percent said they weren’t sure.
U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) came in first place among actual candidates with 20 percent. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) came in a distant second with just 10 percent of the vote, while former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (8 percent) and businessman Donald Trump (5 percent) rounded out the field.
