Why Mike Bickle, James Goll and Others Are Recommending the Bullseye Challenge

Celebration Church in Nashville, Tennessee, was recently transformed by a 30-day initiative called the Bullseye Challenge. The program, created by Larry Tomczak, aims to instill participants with a biblical worldview on hot-button issues in today’s society, including transgenderism, income inequality and abortion.

Tomczak says he’s heard countless success stories from the program. After finishing the series, a young man from Celebration Church reportedly stood up and said, “I went through this with my parents, and it’s changed me. I just really understand things from a biblical standpoint.”

Pastor Dotty Schmitt, of Immanuel’s Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, also praised the program. She reportedly told Tomczak, “My daughter has a son who’s been influenced and was questioning, ‘What’s wrong if gay people who love each other are getting married?’ So we sat down and watched your section on LGBT issues, we talked, and he completely changed. He said, ‘I can see it. I can see now why it’s not right.’ … As a grandmother, thank you for this.”

Mike Bickle, prophetic leader and founder of the International House of Prayer, personally recommended this book. And James Goll, best-selling author and founder of Encounters Network, noted there was even power in the name of the program: “Bullseye usually refers to Satan’s targeting leaders. This is God redeeming the term for His glory.”

The Bullseye Challenge encourages believers to spend 15 minutes each day developing a biblical worldview about a particular topic. That includes three minutes watching an online video about the topic, 10 minutes reading a chapter from the accompanying book and two minutes praying and reflecting on the issue. The program lasts 30 days.

Tomczak says his goal for the program is to bring light into the darkness.

“I’ve been in ministry for, as of July, 44 years,” Tomczak says. “I’ve been married 40 years. I have a passion that God’s people represent the truth as ambassadors with confidence, with courage, and can present the truth cogently to change lives. But if we don’t equip the people, they’re silent.”

Tomczak says he was inspired by Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s classic quotation: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
