New NBC Sitcom Suggests Jesus Is a Full-On Homosexual
How far across the line will Antichrist agendas go? Isn’t it bad enough to suggest that God is a woman and that Jesus is a transgender?
I’d expect that from the gay lobby that’s working to influence the culture through media and entertainment. But when NBC gets on board with this blasphemy, it surprises even me.
NBC is propagating a false—homosexual—Jesus in its freshman show Superstore. This is no small offense—and it’s not accidental. No, Justin Spitzer, who serves as writer and executive producer, appears to be blatantly smearing Christ and angering many of His followers.
In Superstore, “America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) and Ben Feldman (Mad Men, A to Z) star in a hilarious workplace comedy (from the producer of The Office) about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore,” NBC reports.

“From the bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans to the clueless summer hires and the in-it-for-life managers, together they hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions,” the show description reads.
In the episode “Wedding Day Sale,” a Christian store manager named Glenn asks for help from a gay employee named Mateo to build out a special gay wedding section.
“I just want everyone who comes into this store to feel accepted,” Glenn says. That seemingly compassionate gesture opens a discussion about Jesus supporting pro-gay adoption and pro-gay marriage—and even speculation that the Messiah Himself may have been homosexual.
Various agendas have tried to morph Jesus into their own image over the centuries. As apologist Alden Bass points out, in 19th Century Europe, Jesus was a Romantic, and later an Existentialist. In the roaring ’20s, many Americans looked to Jesus as a social reformer. In the 1960s, he was suddenly a radical revolutionary. Now, Jesus is being portrayed as a transgender and homosexual.
“The only evidence in the Bible in favor of homosexuality is that which is read into the text by interpreters trying to shape a Jesus who approves of their sinful lifestyle,” Bass says. “As Christians defending God’s truth, we must be informed of these matters so that we are not taken off-guard by those who would pervert the gospel of Christ to their own ends (see 2 Tim. 3:1-5).”
And to that, I say a hearty “Amen.” If we’re going to speak the truth in love instead of lobbing Word bombs at homosexuals that blow up in our faces and leave them wounded, we’re going to have to first learn to rightly divide the Word of truth—and then learn to deliver the Word with compassion that heals instead of cuts. It’s the kindness of God that leads men to repentance, after all, not pharisaical arguments.
Understanding that, the church needs to rise up and get equipped to preach an unadulterated gospel to a people group that is finding new ways to justify sin—even portraying Jesus in their own gay image. God loves all men, but the reality is the prince of the power of the air is doing a better job using media to evangelize for the dark side than the kingdom is using media to be a genuine witness for Christ.
We need to pray. We need to write NBC and Universal Television and The District, who are parties to this show, and make our voice heard. We need to support Christian TV and film producers who have a good message. And, again, we need to understand how to share the Good News to a gay community who desperately needs a radical encounter with the love of God.
