Cruz Seeks National Prayer Warriors

For an overwhelming majority of America’s history, prayer has been an integral part of the governance at all levels.

As the Founders fought to secure our nation’s liberty, and to forge a new nation, they called the Continental Congress and the colonies to prayer. And in the decades that followed, every challenge our nation has faced has been met with a call to prayer.

Republican presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas announced Thursday he is forming a national prayer team, which his campaign will launch on Dec. 1. Called “A Time for Prayer,” the Cruz Crew-led volunteer network of prayer warriors will be asked to prayer on behalf of the nation, the candidate, his family, his staff, and the campaign.

“Our nation is in desperate need of God’s favor; these are dangerous days for America, but these are also days of great hope,” Cruz said. “United in prayer and in purpose, we are committed to reignite the promise of our nation.”

Those interested in joining the Cruz’s national prayer team can visit www.tedcruz.org/pray to sign up. Members will receive weekly emails containing prayer requests and a short devotional. Each Tuesday, members will be invited to a 20-minute prayer conference call.

“Heidi and I are grateful for the prayers of people all over this nation,” Cruz said. “We experience the power of prayer every day. We’re organizing A Time for Prayer to establish a direct line of communication between our campaign and the thousands of Americans who are lifting us up before the Lord.”
