Israel Supporters Flood Streets of New York City

Thousands of Israel supporters surrounded the city’s Fifth Avenue at 11 a.m. for the annual parade, which celebrated the birth of the Jewish state in 1948. Several elected officials participated, including U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. By numbers, the parade is America’s largest annual show of support for Israel.
