The Most Outrageous Thing America is Doing to Trigger God’s Judgment
Homosexual crusaders are seeking to impose a standard where society never takes a stand against sin. If homosexuality is not sin then unfaithfulness to one’s spouse is not sin, if adultery is not sin then stealing from the 7-Eleven is not sin. The last couple of generations of Americans have failed to live up to the name as the people of Jehovah, frittering away a biblically based culture established by America’s Founders. The departure from fixed boundaries of moral order consistent with God’s character has put a match to rebellion against Jehovah; America is coming apart at the seams. Toleration of immoral sexual practices is a vice, not a virtue, for the Bible speaks unequivocally and unerringly to the issue of homosexuality:
- “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22).
- “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
Christian theologian Robert Gagnon writes: “If same-sex intercourse is indeed sin, then an appeal to tolerance is largely misplaced. However, on this issue, as on any other, if a clear, unequivocal, and pervasive stance in the Bible can be shown to exist-across the Testaments and accepted for nearly two millennia of the church’s existence-then the burden of proof lies with those who take a radically different approach to the issue.” There is an unknown trigger in the Finger of God that brings judgment; He will not tolerate outright sinfulness and rebellion. The One True Deity will swing into action if provoked, swift and brute power will He exhibit, beware if you provoke Him to anger. Homosexual conduct is destructive to an individual and a society, for virtue is a key component of freedom. Nevertheless, the church is called to love and minister to homosexuals, they need Christ, “For all have sinned and fallen short of glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Let’s cut to the chase. The decision to foist same-sex intercourse and marriage on a once Christian nation by five secularist justices provides us judiciary insight. More subtly, it offers a physiological insight: those who depart from fixed boundaries of moral order that are consistent with God’s character actually despise God – not just His law. In Psalm 2:1-3, the nations and peoples are united in a fit of rage against God. They express their rebellion by seeking to overthrow his law, which they liken to cords of bondage: “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” Despising God’s law and despising God Himself-these always work together. And such a man I once was too, apart from God’s grace to change my life.
Homosexuals as a rule are secularists seeking to displace the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in America. These crusading zealots practice the politics of personal destruction against all who disagree with their immoral actions. Increasingly these militants are exhibiting totalitarian and fascist traits, “even exerting institutional pressure to fire, not hire or license, or retard the promotion of vocal dissenters.”
The adherents of secularism – a religion opposed to Christianity – have no ability to recognize wisdom. “Those who with understanding have sought Wisdom, submitted themselves to her teachings, and so obtained the personal, spiritual, and moral knowledge communicated through this book [Bible]. Only this kind of person recognizes the truth of Wisdom’s words.”
It is becoming increasingly clear that America’s Founders exercised great wisdom to establish Christianity within their Colonial charters. Christianity was the official religion of America in the original thirteen Colonies.
Take as exhibit A the five secularist Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Proverbs 26:8 says, “Like one who binds a stone in a sling is he who gives honor to a fool.” Michael V. Fox explains this verse: “Giving a fool honor (in the form of adulation or high station) just arms him to hurt others, like putting a stone into his sling. The honor he receives becomes a nasty missile, making him even more arrogant and obnoxious.”
Wisdom prompts those willing to engage homosexual belligerents in the public square, “Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he become wise in his own eyes” (Proverbs 26:5).
“The rationale for answering a fool according to his folly,” Old Testament scholar Bruce Waltke explains, “is to avoid the negative consequence that the fool arrogantly replaces the Lord’s heavenly wisdom with his own. The wise person must expose the fool’s distortions to serve his own interests at the expense of the community and must not silently accept it and thereby contribute to establishing his topsy-turvy world against the rule of God.”
Even with the discomfort and potential danger of such confrontation,someone must speak up for a revival of righteousness and the reestablishment of a Biblically based culture. These are the key components of freedom.
