9/11 Warning Book Hits Amazon Top 10 List
A day-of-release television interview boosted sales for a book warning of God’s impending judgment on America.
The Harbinger by Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn rose to No. 8 on Amazon’s best-seller list after he appeared on CBN’s The 700 Club to tell host Pat Robertson about the book’s message, which ties events since 9/11 to a prophecy in Isaiah 9.
Subtitled “The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future,” The Harbinger has been published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House. The book traces a series of detailed parallels between what has happened in the U.S. since the 2001 terrorist attacks—including the economic collapse—and Israel’s history after it turned away from God. Told in fictional form, the book sets out how nine signs concealed in recent events reveal God’s progressive judgment.
“We are living in the balance,” Cahn told Robertson. “God is calling America to return. He is calling all of us to consecrate ourselves, to pray for America.” Calling The Harbinger a “fascinating” book, Robertson told viewers it was a prophetic word to the nation and “a read you need to make.”
Charisma House Publisher Steve Strang said that the strong reaction to Cahn’s television appearance had confirmed advance interest in the book. “People are really gripped by the message when they hear more about it,” he said. “We believe that it’s an important and timely book for our nation and for the church.”
Marcos Perez, vice president of sales at Charisma House, said that there had been strong online demand prior to Cahn’s television appearance, but the jump in sales had been “exciting to watch.” The book was going to reprint Wednesday due to reorders already coming in. “There is something special about this book,” Perez said. “God has had His hand all over it, and it’s just exciting to be a part of it.”
Cahn was also scheduled to talk about his book in a series of appearances on The Jim Bakker Show this week.
Raised in a Jewish home, Cahn became an atheist before accepting Christ as Messiah as a 20-year-old. Since 1988 he has led Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, N.J., one of the country’s largest Messianic congregations. Through his Hope of the World ministry, he has ministered in to Cuba, Nigeria and India.
Charisma House is part of Charisma Media, which also publishes Charisma.
