Jack Hayford, Marilyn Hickey Gather for 20th Anniversary of Eagles’ Wings
More than 1,500 people gathered at The Tabernacle in Orchard Park, N.Y., for the Eagles’ Wings Legacy conference. Under the leadership of Robert Stearns, the three-day event celebrated a 20-year milestone of annually bringing people from across the nation for inspiration and equipping. The crowded sanctuary of this historic church offered standing room only, as people from 23 states and five nations united together to worship, pray and hear Bible-centered teachings.
“God is looking to establish a godly legacy through you, your life, your family and your church,” Stearns, executive director of Eagles’ Wings, declared at the Saturday evening service. “He is the God of generations and is bringing all the generations together to advance His kingdom on the earth.”
National church leaders present to minister included Jack Hayford of The King’s University; teacher and television host Marilyn Hickey; pastor Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding, Calif.; Michael Koulianos; Matt Sorger; Larry Keefauver and many more. These seasoned and up-and-coming leaders represented the generations gathered together.
One highlight of the conference was a special service on Friday evening, July 19, where Stearns was installed as the new senior leader of The Tabernacle. Stearns will be giving apostolic oversight to this key church in the Buffalo area, led for the past 50 years by Bishop Tommy Reid. Before the service that afternoon, Stearns and members of The Tabernacle presented Reid and Wanda Reid with a surprise reception in honor of their profound legacy, both regionally and internationally. Reid is widely known for his years of work with Dr. Cho in South Korea and Lester Sumrall in South Bend, Ind., and his dedication to bringing the gospel worldwide.
“It is an honor to be a part of this special moment, not only because Robert Stearns is my brother and friend,” Hayford said, “but because he exemplifies the qualities of integrity, maturity, wisdom and grace to assume this office of bishop or overseer of this church and the many ministries that flow from it touching the nations.”
