Women of Faith Partners With ‘The Bible’ for New Tour
The nation’s largest gathering of Christian women, Women of Faith, is taking its two-day live events to a new level this year with an expanded list of biblical Christian speakers, an emphasis on deeper worship with the addition of Mercy Me and Third Day, and a new focus on bringing scriptural depth to modern life applications.
The 2013 tour theme, “Believe God Can Do Anything,” was created to inspire women to let go of the pain, planning and stress by handing their lives over to the only One who can make anything possible, God.
“This year’s theme was created to refocus the minds of women, reminding them that we are not in control, God is, and through Him we can find peace, healing and restoration,” said Barry Walsh, Vice President of Creative at Women of Faith.
The Believe God Can Do Anything tour will make stops in 24 cities across the U.S., starting Aug. 2 in Oklahoma City, Okla., and wrapping up in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 1. Each event runs a day and a half and includes a variety of speakers, such as Sheila Walsh, Christine Caine, Lisa Harper, Max Lucado and Priscilla Shirer. Worship music will be led by Gateway Worship, home church of Kari Jobe and well-known worship songs such as “Revelation Song” and “Stay Amazed.”
“Whether it is a broken family situation, breast cancer or illness, infertility, problems with children, loss of a spouse or child, financial or marital difficulties, we want women to know that God is the ultimate healer and by clinging to Him pure refreshment will take root in their lives,” said Debbie Stuart, Church and Leadership Development Director for Women of Faith. “What we can offer at our events is hope and experiential renewal.”
“Partnership with the local church is so important to us,” said Stuart. “We want women who spend theweekend with us to have continual biblical support and encouragement long after we leave a city and that can only be done through the local church.”
Women of Faith has also partnered with producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett to feature their series The Bible, which made History Channel the top cable network, at this year’s events. Women of Faith will incorporate a special collection of film footage from The Bible that will be woven throughout the event to bring a fresh creative element to the program.
“We made a yearly resolution to make God’s Word the center of our messages,” said Lisa Harper, ministry director at Women of Faith. “With clear, practical application we were honored to have this extraordinary opportunity to partner with The Bible series.”
