The Mystery of the Days of Awe
Jonathan Cahn’s Latest Book Reveals Stunning Parallels Between Bible Holy Days and Events In Our Time
Could the shocking events of modern times, even of recent years, be the outplaying of mysteries going back two and a half thousand years?
Could a 3,000-year-old calendar of appointed days in the Bible lie behind the shaking of America in recent times?
These questions and more are asked and answered in Jonathan Cahn’s latest blockbuster bestseller The Josiah Manifesto: The Ancient Mystery And Guide For the End Times, released in September by Charisma Media’s Frontline. In it, Cahn addresses the questions that many Christians are asking today in light of current events rocking our world:
- What does the future hold?
- Is America heading for calamity?
- Is there hope?
- Have we been given a last chance, and is it possible to alter the future?
- What do we need to know in order to survive and prevail in the days ahead?
“The Josiah Manifesto opens up an ancient mystery that foretold the shakings that would come on America,” says Cahn, “not only what would happen – but when. It begins in Leviticus 23, in which the Moedeem, the appointed times of God, are laid. Each one holds a mystery that played out in modern times before our eyes.”
THE DAY OF THE PLAGUE
The first of God’s appointed days is that of Passover. Passover is unique in that it’s the only holy day of God that centers on a plague. Even the name Passover refers to the passing over the plague. Beyond that, Passover is the first recorded case of a national lockdown in world history. An entire nation was told to stay inside their houses and not come out because a plague was passing through the land.
Passover always falls in the spring, March/April. When it fell in 2020, America and the world were brought into the mystery of Passover. Almost all Americans were locked in their houses because a plague was passing through the land.
Meanwhile, the Jewish people were celebrating the ancient holy day – reciting the story of a plague passing through the land, and while an actual plague was passing through the land – remembering when they were in national lockdown in Egypt while they actually were in national lockdown.
“In Israel on Passover in 2020,” Cahn says, “the government ordered the entire nation to stay inside their houses because of a curfew and only come out in the morning. It was the first time that had happened since the days of Moses in Egypt.”
Cahn points out that Jesus is the Passover Lamb. “Our faith is a Passover faith. America and much of the western world has turned away from that Lamb and that faith. But in 2020, America and the world was brought back into Passover as the mystery replayed in the modern world in real time and space – before our eyes.”
THE FIRE OF GOD
The mystery didn’t stop with Passover. “The next appointed holy feast,” Cahn says, “is called Shavuot – which in Greek is Pentecost. Pentecost is all about the fire of God – the tongues of fire coming down to the Upper Room, the baptism fire, the fire of the Spirit. And just as the Feast was approaching, fire comes upon America. Its cities go up in flames. It all explodes and leads into the ‘Summer of Rage.’“
With cities on fire, Cahn points to the stunning correlation. “May 28th – the day that the Jewish people were lighting candles to begin Shavuot or Pentecost — that’s the very day that the fire of the riots explode across America. And that weekend, the Christians celebrated the fire of the spirit while the land is being shaken by fire across the cities.”
THE EVIL DECREE OVERTURNED
The next holy day is the Feast of Trumpets. It comes in September. It is known in the Jewish world as Yom Ha Din – meaning ‘The Day of Judgment.’ It’s seen as a shadow of the Day of Judgment. Jews believe that at that time, God in the high court of heaven, passes judgment on the righteous and the unrighteous. So it’s a time of repentance, to get right with God.
“Just as the Feast of Trumpets came, the ‘day of the high court,’ God touches the high court of America. It is believed that on Trumpets, God ordains who will ‘pass from the earth.’ So on that day, the Supreme Court was altered – one of its justices passed from the earth, Judge Ruth Ginsburg. Ginsburg was strongly pro-abortion. But it was her passing and her passing alone that opened the door for Roe V. Wade to be overturned.
“The Feast of Trumpets is the day that ushers in the time of repentance, when a nation is to turn away from its sin. So on the Feast of Trumpets, 2020, an event took place that opened the door for America and the Supreme Court to begin turning away from its sin, departing from the evil of Roe v. Wade. And all it began on God’s day of repentance, judgment, and most high court.”
WHAT DOES IT MEAN AND WHAT LIES AHEAD?
The stunning parallels between the ancient Bible calendar and current events should be a sign to us today. “It means the God of the Bible is real!” says Cahn. “His invisible hand is guiding these things, into the outworking of His purposes. And He will work all things, the good and the bad, together for the good of those who follow Him. We, as the righteous, must trust Him to fulfill His purposes in our lives.”
So what happens next?
“It all depends on what the nation does with the chance it has been given,” says Cahn. “This is the moment we find ourselves in. We need to pray that the church awakens and takes her rightful place. This is a time to stand courageously and not follow the ways of the world – to not allow them in our homes or our hearts.”
Cahn says the heart of the message of The Josiah Manifesto is deeply personal to him. “I believe this can be the greatest time for God’s people. The dark has gotten darker, but this is the time for Josiahs to rise up. This is the time for Elijah, for the book of Acts. All of those things took place in dark times. So this could be our greatest hour, but we have to refuse to compromise. We cannot bow down. God has given us power — in every age and every circumstance — to overcome.”
Cahn says the days of being cultural Christians are over. “It’s time to become radical for God. It’s time to be revolutionary. It only takes one person or one generation or one group of people who are totally sold out to God to change the course of their nation or their world. We were born for such a time as this.” {eoa}
