Over a Week of Revival Continues at Free Chapel
“See, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not be aware of it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert,” (Isa. 43:19).
Just as God’s promises to Israel are coming true today, so too is God doing something new and exciting around the world as He pours His Spirit out among His people.
America witnessed this in the early part of 2023 as Asbury University experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit drawing some 40,000 to the campus in hopes of experiencing the presence of God.
There have been may other revivals taking place around the country since then, but they look a bit different than historic revivals of the past. They are not years-long movements of God, but shorter outpourings of the Holy Spirit.
These revivals are renewing and revitalizing the communities of those who are bringing a repentant and hungry spirit before the Lord, and He is answering their prayers.
This is something that Pastor Jentezen Franklin of Free Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia, and his congregation have been praying for years to occur. While the church is filled with the Spirit and has regular moves of God, He is doing something new at Free Chapel over the past week.
Continuing the “Signs of the Times” sermon series, which has seen guest speakers such as Pastor Jimmy Evans and Pastor John Hagee share immensely valuable knowledge on the last days, it was when Evangelist Perry Stone spoke on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 22, that the Lord led Franklin and Stone to extend these revival services until He told them it was done.
Each night has seen a packed house in Gainesville, and a filled altar call that spills over into the aisles.
“Can I just tell you something? This does not just happen like this, now, in this modern time,” explains Stone at the beginning of the revival services. “It shows me that the harvest is really ready, and it shows me that this part of Georgia, and it’s not just here it’s all over, there’s a hunger.
“Something is happening.”
That something has now become a more than weeklong continuation of revival services that are seeing people delivered and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Franklin and Stone said they plan on continuing until Wednesday, Nov. 1, encompassing Halloween with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Whether they continue beyond that is up to the Holy Spirit, they say. They will continue these services as long as the Spirit is leading them to continue.
There is no better way to traverse the Christian walk than with the Holy Spirit taking the lead. {eoa}
