Actress Jen Lilley Shares Redemptive Message During Departure From ‘Days of Our Lives’

Actress Jen Lilley shared a redemptive message of faith during her departure from “Days of Our Lives” as she wrapped up a decade on the popular show playing Jeanne Theresa Donovan.

“Playing Jeanne Theresa Donovan off and on for the last 10 years has taught me so much about empathy and grace,” Lilley wrote on Facebook. “I have enjoyed every moment of her hilarious sass and ferocity, layered with brokenness. To the cast and crew @dayspeacock, I love you forever. You’re my family.”

Lilley, who has played on both Hallmark and the Great American Family Channel (GAC), has been using her platform to share her heart for God, children and to inspire other women in their journey. Lilley shared with her “Days of Our Lives” fans this kind of faith-filled encouragement.

“And to the best fans a girl could ask or hope for: remember there is no pit so deep you could ever find yourself in where God’s love cannot find you still. You are never beyond redemption. You are called by grace and marked with love. Thank you for supporting me on this decade long journey,” Lilley wrote.

Lilley has previously shared hope and faith-filled messages with her heart for adoption and her own family.

“Children as a blessing from God and like mighty arrows in the hands of a warrior,” Lilley shared in a family photo. “While our hands are full, and I pray every day that we’re doing a good job raising these precious little souls, I hope one day God will add a few more to my quiver through adoption.”

Lilley is not the first of the Hallmark and Great American Family Channel actresses to openly share their faith. Candace Cameron Bure has been an active proponent of faith for years. Bure’s stance on family values also landed her in hot water with secular outlets as she boldly switched from Hallmark to the GAC Family due to her heart for keeping traditional marriage at the forefront of the films she produces.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bure said, “I knew the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

In fact, it was Bure who helped encourage “Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar to enter into a relationship with Christ.

“Because of you helping me to find my relationship with God and Jesus, it’s been like a revolution in my life. It’s been a revelation in my life,” McKellar said.

It’s actresses like Lilley, Bure and McKellar who are publicly sharing their faith while encouraging others to do the same that are acting as a light to those in the entertainment industry. As Christians, we are to let our light so shine before men and to be a city on a hill. As these brave women lead the way to sharing more about God’s redemption and love, their inspiration should draw more of us to boldly stand and proclaim the gospel to the world around us. {eoa}
