Parents Looking for Faith Alternatives to Girl Scouts’ Cultural Narrative
For decades, the Girl Scouts of the United States of America was looked upon as an organization parents could count on to help grow their daughters into wholesome, strong value-oriented young women that would make a positive impact on society.
No longer is that the case, says American Heritage Girls Executive Director Patti Garibay. The Girl Scouts, Garibay says, are now using inappropriate content to teach girls about topics such as critical race theory LGBTQ ideology and others that are contrary to the kingdom values of the church. Garibay labels the atmosphere in the GSUSA as “indoctrination.”
Such actions are forcing parents who are longing for more family-friendly, age-appropriate content, to reconsider allowing their daughters to become Girl Scouts.
American Heritage Girls has been the premier faith-based, scout-type leadership development program for nearly three decades. It was founded by Garibay as a direct response to the Girl Scouts taking God out of their organization.
AHG helps build character, cultivate leadership skills and raise godly young women.
“The Girl Scouts of the United States of America has fallen prey to the liberal agenda, all to the detriment of America’s girls,” Garibay says. “The organization is too busy grooming young activists to worry about what is best for girls.
“Patches like ‘Be a Sister to EVERY Scout’ are horrific by themselves as they teach young girls age-inappropriate lessons. But what is even more disturbing is that it was created by a Girl Scout herself! The indoctrination has gone full circle.”

A teen Girl Scout released the local patched mentioned above. It was designed to teach girls about the LGBTQ community, its history and how to be a good ally. The patch encourages girls as young as age five to watch LGBTQ television shows, to choose their own pronouns and to research LGBTQ women throughout history as inspiration.
The patch earned the teen a Gold Award, the most prestigious award the Girl Scouts can bestow upon one of its own.
The American Family Association says the Girls Scouts have been “on a moral decline for a long time, supporting abortion, sexual education similar to that of Planned Parenthood and the LGBTQ agenda.”
Last month’s Pride month was a huge motivation for the GSUSA, who offered a program of LGBTQ-themed activities including the opportunity to earn an LGBTQ Fun Patch, to participate in No Name-Calling Week, sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network or to attend an LGBTQ Pride celebration.”
Why Franklin Graham Has a Beef With the Girl Scouts
Before they could do that, however, girls were required to familiarize themselves with the appropriate terminology, such as gay, lesbian, bisexual and queer identity.
Meanwhile, the local troops keep an average of 10-20% of the revenue from Girl Scout cookie sales, while the rest of the organization collects a royalty payment, with a great deal of that money going toward pushing the LGBTQ agendas, the American Family Association says.
AHG offers a “carefully curated program designed to evolve with girls as they age, ensuring that they are never exposed to material that is unsuitable for their stage of development. It also offers resources directly for parents to use at home, including Raising Godly Girls Guides full of biblical wisdom.”
“Parents don’t have to subject their daughters to this unbiblical and immoral content,” Garibay says. “At American Heritage Girls, girls are provided with a safe environment that allows them to explore the world around them without indoctrinating them with inappropriate content with parental consent.” {eoa}
