Local Pastor Presents Mission of Unity for Churches, Marketplace Leaders in Orlando
Pastor Manny Rosario is passionate about the spiritual health of his adopted city of Orlando, Florida. Like many of his fellow pastors with a heart for the lost, he says he won’t rest until every one of the more than 2.67 million people in the city have accepted Christ as their Savior, and that spiritual unity overwhelms Orlando in the marketplace.
Rosario, who serves as the executive pastor at Calvary Orlando church, was recently named as the executive director for Vision Orlando, a faith-based organization whose mission is to see faith, business and government leaders come together in a collaborative effort to see Central Florida transformed for and by God. He will assume his new position at Vision Orlando on Jan. 1, 2022, taking the baton from Dr. George Cope, who is stepping back in his duties to become the organization’s pastoral director. Rosario is looking forward to “running this race” with Cope, whom he says has a shepherd’s heart for pastors.
Rosario says that it will be a huge challenge to evangelize all of Orlando, and it all starts with unity between the churches and business leaders in the city. But, he says, nothing is too big for God to handle.
“Orlando is ripe for the harvest, but one church, organization or business can’t do it alone,” says Rosario, who has served in various roles at Calvary Orlando and helped it become a “cause-and community-driven” church. “It’s going to take all of us coming together to invigorate our city for Jesus. We are stronger together.”
At Calvary Orlando, Rosario developed ministries that served outreach opportunities regionally, while developing a culture of purpose within its faith community.
Throughout his service to the city as a pastor and faith leader for the past 20 years, Rosario has led many outreach initiatives in Central Florida, including the citywide outreach in 2019 at Camping World Stadium that served thousands of people with over $1 million of goods in partnership with Convoy of Hope. In 2020, in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, he organized yet another large outreach to help people in need as Calvary Orlando served over 100,000 meals in groceries to families on Easter Sunday.
Rosario says he is passionate about the spiritual health of Orlando and is committed to mobilizing local churches, local government and marketplace leaders to transform communities for God and the good of humanity.
Cope, a former pastor at Calvary Orlando, served on the pastoral board of Vision Orlando and joined the organization full time as pastoral director in 2013. He will continue in his role as executive director until Rosario takes over, and then resume as pastoral director going forward. {eoa}
