Don’t Try to Impress God; Focus on This
There comes a time in everyone’s life where they need to encounter Jesus for themselves. Trying to follow the rules or fit into the Christian church culture they grew up in just won’t suffice. We need to know Jesus personally and intimately and that only comes by experience knowledge of Him.
There are pastors and teachers around the globe who are preaching a mixture of law and grace, and it is pushing their people further from God instead of closer. Many are trying to do the “right things” and resist the “wrong things,” but the more we focus on performance over intimacy with God, the more we miss the mark drastically and entirely.
It is imperative that we grasp the beauty and purity of the gospel and realize that we bring nothing to the table that impresses God and we need to rely wholeheartedly on the finished work of His Son.
On the latest episode of Awaken Podcast, I spoke with worshipper and songwriter John Mark Pantana about the glory of intimacy with Jesus and how transformative God’s love is. Pantana shares about his struggle with religion that keep him in bondage and how the Lord finally set him free. {eoa}
