Former Casting Crowns drummer Andy Williams died Friday of injuries he sustained after a motorcycle accident on June 27.
He was 49.
As CBN’s Faithwire reported, the crash had left him on a ventilator after suffering “severe trauma to his body and brain.” Last week, he underwent surgery to have one of his legs amputated above the knee after being hit by a vehicle as he was riding his motorcycle to church.
Grace Chapel, William’s home church in Fairview, Tennessee, posted a touching tribute from Williams’ wife Kelly which was shared by Casting Crowns’ singer Mark Hall.
“He fought a great fight, but the injuries that he suffered took a toll on his physical body. You prayed along with us that Andy would be healed. You prayed along with us that Andy would wake up. You prayed along with us that God would perform a miracle. While we mourn that Andy isn’t here with us and that we didn’t get to witness the miracle we longed for here on earth, all of our prayers were answered,” the statement read.
