Charlie Shamp Sounds Off on Prophecy, Politics and the Purposes of God
Prophecy has become an especially hot topic in the past few years. Prophet and evangelist Charlie Shamp, president of Destiny Encounters International, appears with host Jeff Struss on Charisma News for a far-reaching discussion on prophecy, taking time to share how God has used him in governmental and political prophecy and how God uses this Spirit-birthed gift.
After sharing about some of the many words he has given that have proven true, including the election of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Shamp discusses how social media has manipulated the timestamps of some of his prophetic videos, changing them to look as though they were recorded before the internet existed. The purpose for this, he believes, is to cause confusion.
“When it comes to prophecy, there is the edification, exhortation and comfort,” Shamp says, referencing 1 Corinthians 14:3. “But the office of the prophet is different, because it deals governmentally, and it also deals nationally and internationally. And God can show His prophets things concerning the future that are going to take place around the world to begin to prepare people for those events.”
