A Virginia middle schooler is condemning recent proposed transgender policy that would allow “boys into girls’ locker rooms.”
Fourteen-year-old Jolene Grover spoke against Loudon County Public Schools’ proposed policy at a school board meeting.
“Two years ago, I was told policy 1040 was just an umbrella philosophy and you weren’t going to allow boys into the girls’ locker rooms. But here you are doing just that,” she said, referencing the previous policy that affirms “sexual orientation, gender identity.” The policy in question, 8350, allows transgender students to “to use the facility that corresponds to their gender identity.”
Maine Church Seeks Emergency Relief From Unconstitutional Restrictions
Liberty Counsel filed in the First Circuit Court of Appeals for an injunction pending appeal on behalf of Calvary Chapel of Bangor against Maine Governor Janet Mills.
The district court previously dismissed the case as moot following the governor lifting the restrictions on all capacity limits in public indoor venues on May 24. However, the governor could enact them again at any time for any reason. Therefore, Liberty Counsel continues to litigate in order to get a permanent injunction to permanently stop Gov. Mills from returning to her unconstitutional ways.
The district court’s ruling runs contrary to every Supreme Court decision regarding COVID restrictions placed on churches and is also contrary to every other court decision on this issue in the country. The Supreme Court has already granted relief for churches at least 10 times, two of which involved Liberty Counsel’s case of Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry. After the victory of the statewide permanent injunction on California Governor Newsom, the state is now required to pay $1.35 million in attorney’s fees and costs.
Former ministry leader, author and founder of Welton Academy Jonathan Welton has posted a letter on Facebook from mentor and former Bethel senior leader Danny Silk verifying Welton’s long-term involvement in what Silk says is “a process that is helping him grow and heal.”
Welton closed his school, largely focused on the supernatural and what Welton called “better covenant” teaching, in September 2018 after numerous accusations of sexual misconduct against him surfaced.
At the time, Silk, who confronted Welton and urged him toward repentance, published a letter on Sept. 18, 2018, laying out the circumstances of Welton’s resignation and detailing the terms of a proposed recovery process to be overseen by an advisory board consisting of Harold Eberle, Bob Muncy, Steve and Joy Hogan, Eric Gregson and Doug Johnson. He also noted that Welton’s behavior was “beyond hurtful and scary” and that he was “toxic” to those involved with him. {eoa}
