Former Duck Dynasty star and Dancing With the Stars runner-up Sadie Robertson Huff has landed a contract with When Calls the Heart producer Brad Krevoy to turn her book, Life Just Got Real, into a scripted series.

The outspoken Christian author and speaker has written several books geared toward navigating life as a Christian young woman. Life Just Got Real will serve as Robertson Huff’s first producing gig, and the soon-to-be mom will make guest appearances on the show.

The show will follow “two teenage girls from different backgrounds and opposite lifestyles who discover there is more to friendship than meets the eye,” the book’s synopsis reads.

Robertson Huff co-wrote Life Just Got Real with Cindy Coloma, which focuses on Louisiana 16-year-old A.J. Smith and Tennessee-based Kate Kelly. When both Smith and Kelly join the reality show Real Life, they realize they must stay true to themselves.

Robertson Huff took to social media to share the news of her new series with her 4.3million Instagram followers:

The caption reads in part, “as always ALL glory to God and I pray God would use this show as another way to encourage people in their everyday life and bring family and friends together.”

Robertson Huff told Deadline, “My hope is that this would be an encouraging show for people to watch together that has an inspirational message woven within. I can’t wait to get started.”

Of working with longtime Hallmark Channel producer Brad Krevoy, she said, “I am so excited to jump into the world of scripted television, and to be doing it with Brad [Krevoy] who has been producing positive, inspirational entertainment for years.”

Krevoy said he is “thrilled” to be working with Robertson Huff and her “one-of-a-kind” energy and vision.

“We have no doubt that this show will be a huge success,” Krevoy said. “There is a tremendous audience that is hungry for Sadie’s special brand of family entertainment—and we’re proud to be the ones delivering this content.”

Robertson Huff previously told Fox News that her writing career is “really healing for me because it’s me learning how to deal with whatever problem I’m going through at the time, through faith, through my Scriptures, through God, and then writing about them, because I know that other people can probably relate.”

Supporters flocked to the comment section to voice their congratulations.

“This is amazing!!!! Congratulations Sadie! So happy for you!” Tim Tebow’s wife, Demi, commented on the Instagram post.

Christine Caine said, “Congratulations. So exciting.”

Fellow actress and outspoken Christian Candace Cameron Burr wrote, “Fantastic!”

The scripted series is just the latest of Robertson Huff’s major career and life updates. She announced her daughter’s name, Honey, on social media April 23, saying “I would rather y’all hear it from me and Christian then things going around. this little girl and her name already mean the world to us.”

She continued with a prayer over her unborn daughter:

“I pray over you all the time that you would be sweet and strong and you know what? I already know it that you are. Those words will be your super power in life. We can’t wait to meet you and see your story unfold before our eyes.”

Robertson Huff also announced in November of 2020 a new worship initiative called LO Worship.

“I started LO Worship because I wanted to write songs that support the messages that Live Original is already sharing: that one encounter with Jesus can change everything,” she said. {eoa}
